| You'll be down in no time (I do network security). You're just giving candy to hackers and kiddies. To me, all it looks like is the database is hugely bloated. Many years of information just adds up, and too much information to search through. Not that a bloated is bad...I still read posts from the early 2000's. I think the issue is to deal with the database needing work. I'm not a db expert, but choosing your flavour is big, and indexing is a must. I'm going to assume the db and the front end are older versions, so some work is probably due. Donating is an obvious thing required for better service. Servers cost money (i'd assume just a few thousand). At usually under 150psi, I highly doubt the issue is throughput. You'll have lots of loyal members chipping in $5+ so I think this is the best option, but only IF you actually want to do the work. If you want to offload it onto a few other members offering the services for free, who can you really trust (just playing the devil's advocate). It's a lot of a bigger issue and upgrade than people will realize, even if they are IT experts. You'll have my donation, and work/time, if required and if you trust me =p
